The NT1155
combines thirteen devices to certify, control and maintain
Ethernet: Cat3/5/5E/6. Fiber:
SM/MM
850/1300/1310/1490/1550nm. WLAN: IEEE 802.11 b/g/ n.
IP: DHCP.
Buildings: in a building where cables and
connections are incorrect or numbered incorrect or functions are
unknown, there are 4 ways how to find, test and to number it:
Cable tracer:
In a building with unmounted cables, with or without patch
cables and junction boxes, the NT1155 features a generator which
generates with a choice of different tones selectable for wire
or different cable pairs. And because of this, cables and
connectors will be found without stripping off, connecting and
or making contact. This signal can be received with the optional
TT100.
Workstation
numbering:
For networks which are mounted and installed but the workstation
numbering is incorrect or missing, NT1155 can still recognize
even 20 connections at the same time. Connectors for computer
identification (RJ45), Telecom (RJ12), Analog (COAX) and Audio
(crocodile) cables are available.
Connection searcher:
On a Network
where the Ethernet is already active, the NT1155 can let the
LED’s from a hub or switch blink with a recognizable pattern.
Data Identifier:
By the connection whose unknown which protocol is active, the
data identifier shows functions on its display whether it’s
POTS, Ethernet, ISDN, Token Ring or protocol is not active.
First line:
due
to that certifying with unmounted Network is not possible you
still can save huge time with the first line test.
First line tester:
On the side you can connect the 8 included identification plugs.
During mounting, connection errors will be directly controlled
through the 1-8 test as well as the work station numbering. Also
all patch cables will be quickly controlled by this method.
Software:
the Plan-Umtm
software contains two main features.
Building drawing:
The NT1155 is available with software for the possibility of
describing a building drawing wherein connections are shown
which building is available or existing. The numbering of this
drawing will be read by the certification tester. With this, the
coupling/pair with certification report will be analyzed. And
besides, it is also possible to import an existing Cad drawing.
Certify
report tester:
The NT1155 measures and certify in the first step of all cable
properties according to the TIA568 standard. In step two dynamic
certification tester performs a simulation of a 1 Gigabit
Ethernet Network. And with this dynamic certification tester,
BERT test will be directly sent and hereby data errors will be
detected. Existing data errors will be taken and written on the
certification report. The NT1155 is not giving only the quality
of the cable wirings but also if the actual wiring error/s can
handle 1 Gigabit Ethernet.
Ping: a powerful function is the IP Ping option.
IP Ping:
Through the ping and response times it will be tested if the
connection with the device and or internet is possible. This can
be controlled if the connection made is able to connect to
hub’s, work stations, modems, servers, DHCP, routers, DNS en
switches.
Talk:
it's possible to talk with different network devices.
Cisco talk:
The NT1155 supports CDP so it’s possible to communicate with
Cisco® devices. With this function, settings will be shown on
the display.
Layer 2
talk:
The NT1155 supports LLDP so it’s possible to communicate with
Layer 2 devices. With this function, settings will be shown on
the display.
PoE:
VoIP devices needs power supply for the Ethernet wiring.
PoE meter:
The NT1155 will measure the power. When the NT1155 cannot detect
voltage, then the PoE tester starts automatically an IEEE802.3af
PoE protocol to test if there is no PoE existing.
WiFi:
this function
is designed
to test the IEEE 802.11 b/g/n wireless network.
Wireless LAN:
A clear image will be obtained due to the accessibility,
availability and coverage of each wireless access point. The
NT1155 supports 64 or 128 bit WEP, WPA-encryption and shows the
encryption conditions of each wireless component. It also gives
the identity, functionality and the capacity of each wireless
network.
Fiber:
the
NT1155 has an integrated fiber optic receiver.
Fiber meter:
The NT1155 measure optical relative, absolute power and the
insertion loss at different wavelengths for multimode and single
mode fiber. The wavelengths are adjustable. This fiber tester
has a reference function which is ideal to test optical fiber
cables in dB, the reference value will be stored intern. Senders
in different wavelengths and combinations of wavelengths are
deliverable. |
